EQAO Starts tomorrow!

Assalamualaikum Parents!

I hope your Ramadan is going well. We have been working hard to practice the skills we have learned throughout the year. Jazakallah for your cooperation in helping your child complete practice booklets, and using the online answer keys to guide them to improve their work. Tomorrow we will be beginning EQAO insha’Allah! I am incredibly proud of my students and how hard they have worked to prepare.

The Grade 3 scheduling for EQAO is as follows:

Math – Thursday May 24
Language – Wednesday May 30
Language – Friday June 1st

We have spaced it out so students have breaks in between to alleviate stress and ensure students get a nice balance of other subjects.

How can you help?
-    We will be starting promptly at 8:45am. Make sure students are not late. Not only will this cut their time to write the test, but it will be a distraction to others
-    Ensure your child comes prepared with two HB pencils, sharpener and an eraser
-    Make sure your child has gotten a good night sleep
-    Provide your child with a healthy breakfast. They are allowed to have a snack while writing so provide them with some nutritious snacks
-    Keep all the students of our school in your duas!

Jazakallah Khair,
- Sr. Sumayya

Field Trip Tomorrow!

Assalamualaikum,

TOMORROW IS OUR FIELD TRIP (Insha’Allah). We are very excited to be able to participate in the Bio Blitz that will be taking place at Heber Down Conservation.

The Grade 3’s and 6’s are leaving the school at 9:00 am SHARP, and leaving the park at 2:00pm. The bus will not be waiting for anyone so please make sure all students are punctual.

We will be taking part in a guided hike, two workshops and then will have free time to explore the area. This trip will be taking place rain or shine. MAKE SURE TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY. There will be many other schools there so uniforms are mandatory to ensure we can keep our group together. Make sure students have proper footwear as it may get muddy and we will be hiking. Students will be outdoors the entire time so make sure they are layered.

There will be nothing available for purchase so make sure students have lunch and snacks packed from home. It is highly recommended that they bring a litter less lunch to avoid waste. Students can bring their usual backpack or a stringed one. They should not bring something that they will need to carry (lunch bag) as this will become very inconvenient during the activities. There will be no running water at the area, so have water bottles and possibly even hand sanitizer.

Jazakallah to the parent volunteers who will be joining us! Please contact me through email or REMIND if you have any questions.
