Science Quiz: Tuesday

Assalamualaikum,

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend. The students were informed that they have a science quiz on Tuesday so they all brought their folders home. Please ensure that all work for the unit is complete so far, as it will be marked by the end of the upcoming week.

A breakdown of what they should be studying:

1. List examples of places plants grow (ex: farm, garden, orchard)

2. Students should be able to order the steps in which a new plant grows from a seed.

(There are 6 steps - refer to handout "From Seed to Plant".)
Students will be given the steps - but they will have to order them chronologically.

3. Give 2 examples of how plants can be used to help other living things.
(Refer to "All About Plants" handout)

4. Students should know the definition of Germination.
(Refer to glossary behind the title page).

5. Students should be able to label the inside of a seed using the following terminology:
seed coat, root, leaves, embryo.
(Refer to "Look Inside a Seed" handout).
