LET’S
DESIGN A ROBOT!
We
just began our science unit on Strong and Stable Structures! For this unit, we
will be creating a robot. The challenge is to creating the strongest robot
possible!
You will
have to use recycled materials to make your robot environmentally friendly. You
can bring in materials like tissue boxes, toilet paper/ paper towel rolls,
elastic bands, etc. Think about what materials will make your stronger.
You
will have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to work on the robot. If you are not
done by then, it will be for homework and will be due on Friday. We will begin
testing the robot for its strength on Monday. After the testing, you will write
a reflection piece on ways to improve your structure.
You will be assessed on: stability, strength, balance and properties.
