Science Test Review

Assalamualaikum,

We have our science unit test this Thursday for our Structures Unit. The questions will be based on readings from Nelson Literacy, worksheets done in class, and experiments done in class. Below is a review to guide you on what to study as well, all of the answers can be found in your science folder!

What do you know about structures:  

-       2 examples of structures

-       2 examples of what structures can be used for

-       2 examples of materials which can be used for a structure

Robot Reflection

-       Explain a property you used to make your robot strong and sturdy

-       Explain something you can do to make your robot stronger and sturdier

What is a structure?

-       Define structure

-       Define load

-       Know the 3 properties of a structure (ex: structure has size, has shape, has a purpose)

Natural Structures

-       Fill in a chart. Make a list of two natural structures and two man made structures

Beavers Build Lodges

-       Describe two properties about the structure made by a beaver (the beaver lodge)

Animal Homes

-       Give an example of a structure found in nature which is the home of an animal

Material Properties

-       You will be given the name of a material, you will have to describe why it is useful for a certain object. (ex: why would a baseball bat be made of wood?)

 Stability

-       We did an experiment in class using 3 different cardboard tubes. What were our results? What did we learn about stability by doing this experiment?
